Sekander Badsha Hi, I have a post form and I've added a checkbox selection for categories. However none of the settings I've tried will ONLY show the slugs I've listed to inclusion. Slug shows all the categories on the site even though I've listed certain slugs separated by commas and no spaces in the "selection terms" field in the form editor. We need our subscribers to only post in certain categories. How can I do this? Thank you, Tiff for Ryan

Hello Ryan,
You’re doing it wrong. You should put the “id”s of the categories.

You can get the id’s of the categories from the categories list. Go the categories list and hover over the categories you want to show in the form. You’ll see something like “http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?action=edit&taxonomy=category&tag_ID=26&post_type=post” in bottom of the screen.
Here 26 is the category id.

Hi,

Thank you for the explaination of how to find the category IDs. That is helpful.

However when I list them, starting with the parent category and use “include”drop down only the parent category appears. If I use “child of” I will get just the children categories, but not the parent category. We need them to be able to select both the parent category and at least one child category.

I also tried using “exclude” and listed the categories I want to exclude, but that didn’t hide any choices, all categories appear. I tried exclude and listing just the categories I want, but that did nothing.

How can I show both the parent and the child categories I need?

Thank you,
Tiff for Ryan

P.S. In the form settings I have the parent category set as the default.

I also see from this topic, checkbox is an issue for others as well. Based on their post, I switched to multi-select and the chosen categories appear. But it’s not ideal. Hopefully we can get this issue fixed in the next update.
