    Hi Again,
I am creating a custom form to work as the “new post” form works within the backend. I am not sure how to tie in the custom fields with items that are within the backend/admin area. Basically, my theme has a choice of making a post a featured item and showing it on the homepage. I am making a form for users to submit a submission, but am not sure how to connect a few of the custom fields to the theme.

All you have to do is find the right meta_keys.

    what theme you are using?

few fields you can't use regular way. You have to use action hook.
    Find example here: http://docs.wedevs.com/wpuf_add_post_after_insert/

Sorry for the delay, install this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/post-meta-inspector/
It'll show the post meta fields in current post in wp-admin post edit area.
