|Paul||I bought the PayPal adaptive payment plugin and need some help. Can you explain in more detail how this process works? I read the PayPal page and understand the difference between chained and parallel but I wanted to know more about the commissions and how dokan works to pay the site owners the fees. Is this paid to us manually or automatic?
What do you recommend to use?
"A parallel payment is a payment from a sender that is split directly among 2-6 receivers. Technically, a parallel payment is a set of multiple payments made in a single Pay request."My understanding is that each seller will get paid when the buyer completes the purchase. How does the site get their commission from this type of payment? If there is an option to set that, where do I set the fee we keep? Chained:
"A chained payment is a payment from a sender that is indirectly split among multiple receivers. It is an extension of a typical payment from a sender to a receiver, in which a receiver, known as the primary receiver, passes part of the payment to other receivers, who are called secondary receivers."I see the site owner gets paid first and can keep his commission but does that mean the owner has to go in and calculate each sellers profit for the sale? It seems tedious to figure out who gets paid what. Maybe I am missing something here but dealing with paying out each seller doesnt seem very easy unless dokan does this all for you. Do I just enter my paypal address in the dokan paypal adaptive settings to enable it? Where do I get the App Uername, App Password, etc?

First thing first – to accept payments by using PayPal Adaptive payment system, you need to get approval from Paypal and paypal will give you special merchant API access. So, contact with them regarding Adaptive Payments API. It shouldn’t be hard to get approval.
To setup seller’s percentage – go to Dokan -> Settings -> Selling Options
Currently, all sellers will get same percentage commission. We have a plan to allow admin to change percentage to each sellers.
Parallel or Chained?:
Its your choice. If you choose Parallel – then your sellers will get their commissions straight way. For Chained there is an option from your Paypal that you want to allow others to get paid straight way or you want to hold up to 90days.
Suppose, one buyer bought $100 products in total from 2 sellers and you set percentage: 90%
Seller A’s products value – $60
Seller B’s products value – $40
Seller A will get $54 in to their paypal,
Make sure sellers setup their Paypal account properly from their Dashboard -> Settings -> Payment Method
If you still confused, feel free to let us know.
