Can we expect any integration with BuddyPress for the WP Project Management?
I am sure i am not the only one who is asking and screaming for this. (After doing some research for a well project management system on the internet, i found a lot of “not going on” systems and unsupported systems with lots of bugs but also quiet some people who are searching for this.)
So.. PLEASE 🙂
Integration in BuddyPress:
– Tabs on profile (My Projects .. projects that the person is involved with. My Tasks)
– Projects can be assigned to groups
– Tasks can be assigned to more peopleAugust 31, 2013 at 2:15 pm #7696

Yes, integration with BuddyPress will come for sure 🙂 But it'll take some time, no ETA yet.October 29, 2014 at 5:20 pm #29365
Do you have any news re integration of Project Manager with BuddyPress ?

In the meantime I've purchased a dev license of WP Project Manager. It's important for me to know when and how (frontend / backend ?!?) you will provide integration with BP.
Thanks for feedback, HansNovember 12, 2014 at 3:22 pm #30273
Good news for you. We have just started working today on this. We are considering similar features like CollabPress. Let us know about your ideas, how you want to use Project Manager with BuddyPress.
We would be glad if you can send us some mockup, screenshot or pencil sketch.
Thank You 🙂November 12, 2014 at 3:23 pm #30274
You are also open to provide any other idea if you want.November 12, 2014 at 4:16 pm #30282
That are really good news. Yes, I will sit down and try to provide a few ideas.
The most important feature for me – compared to WP Project Manager – is front-end capability, everything should happen in the front-end! I don't know if that fits in your concept, but I would say that's what the BuddyPress community is waiting for: a way to handle to-dos. Something relatively lightweight, no overkill.
You mentioned CollabPress. I don't know why that plugin isn't updated, but could be that one reason is complexity. They integrated so many features.
From my point of view there are different “markets”: social networking, project management, learning management, document management etc. – and BP is definitely a networking tool. And I would say it will never be a big or professional project management system.
Compared to the LMS approach with courses, to-dos have to be fully integrated into BP groups and BP privacy. And why not use e.g. BuddyDrive for file handling, why not provide the “missing link” inside the BP eco-system? Now that imath is a member of the BP core team would say that plugin will not dissapear. Just a thought.
I would definitely be willing to pay for a separate product (same price), let's call it *BP Project Manager*. Same business model as “WP Project Manager” with a basic free version and add-ons for specific “networking needs”.
That's it for the moment. I will write again or sketch…
Thanks for all your coding. Have a good day, HansNovember 12, 2014 at 4:24 pm #30284
BTW: that's the BP site with a free service called TOOLBOX I'm working on for “edu people” in Switzerland:
And the “Business” product is called XTRABOX, separate WP / BP installations for commercial project teams based on *.info.ch subdomains.November 19, 2014 at 3:16 pm #30764
Thank you so much for your awesome ideas. I have discussed about these with our team.
Making a standalone or separate plugin to manage projects with BuddyPress would be a really big task for us and we do not have that much big team to work on it. And we also have to maintain our existing three major plugins.
So we can only afford an add-on with some basic and essential features for now. Maybe when our team is big enough in the future, we may start developing new plugins. But we are still looking forward for your sketches.
And thanks again for being awesome! 😀
