That is actually far more difficult than what is already required to display a video on our site.

We just want the videos to display automatically after upload.

Like at YouTube! Have you ever uploaded a video at YouTube?

When someone uploads a video at YouTube, there isn't an employee in the backend who has to insert an attachment in order for the video to display. It just does it automatically.

Your plugin doesn't make any sense.

Your plugin creates a post and uploads a video but nobody can watch the video. What is the point of that??

    Hello Anthony,

We bind up some default feature for some standard works into WP User Frontend Pro and it is open source.

So, when the entire source code on your hand you can customize the plugin based on your requirements. Several people are doing the same way.

    Thanks

Still can't believe you guys couldn't solve this problem. It just seems so simple.

Your plugin offers a field in the form upload area called “Meta Key”. If I put “jtheme_video_file” into the “Meta Key”, it inserts the video attachment ID# into the “jtheme_video_file” field after upload. Is there seriously no way to get the URL to go into that field instead of the ID#? That's all we need.

Now I have to hire a developer for probably $200 just to fix this one small thing??

I have to agree with this poster.

If you paste a video URL or an mp3 URL into the editor in wordpress the video or mp3 player is show immediately.

Surely that basic/core wordpress functionality can be added to a custom field.

    Hello Anthony,

It seems that it is too easy but honestly it is not. It will affect all other file types also. Because we do not know which client need which types of files mostly and it is very hard to manage. Like – you are asking for video URL. Someone can ask for PDF to show etc. So we have only attached a default option. User can modifies and extend.

Whatever we are considering your idea. I will keep this idea in our log. At least if a modest number of users (15 persons) want this feature we will definitely go for the development.

    Thanks

    It actually was easy.

Our developer got it functioning correctly in about 2 hours.

I can also guarantee you that there's a lot more than 15 people out there who have an interest in this considering that there's several million YouTube users who upload videos every day and they don't need someone on the back-end attaching URL's in order for videos to display.
