I have tested the WPUF registration process using the Buddypress Integration Add-On and I believe there is a problem with the email validation.
When a new user completes my registration form and clicks the Register button the email that should be sent is a validation email with a subject line that reads “Activate Your Account” and email content that says “Thanks for registering! To complete the activation of your account please click the following link: http;//yourURL?key=lksdfj34l3kjasdetc….

The email that is being sent to my users is a Username and Password email with a subject line of “Your username and password” and content that has no greeting at all, just the UN and PW and a link back to the wp-login.php page.

This is a problem because it is not validating the email of the new user. And this is what is making my approval workflow break.

Can you let me know if there is a quick fix for this or point me to where I can investigate this in the WPUF code.
Thanks a lot!

Yes, the name of the approval plugin is Buddypress Registration Options. As I mentioned, the plugin works when I am using the default Buddypress registration page but when I use my custom page built with WPUF Pro and Buddypress Integration Add On the plugin doesn’t work.

Great. Thanks for the clarification. This add on is very good and a huge improvement over the Buddypress registration form. Thanks a lot!

Thanks Tareq,
I tested the above code in the WPUF registration and it works great. I am assuming it will format the date in the correct Buddypress format in the Buddypress Integration add-on.
Thanks again!

I was able to see the date picker. Is it possible to add a year button to the top of the date picker. The calendar starts in 2013 and you can only go back by month. It should start in the 90s somewhere and have a way to go back by year.

Also, how do you get the registration shortcode to work. I tried dropping it into my Register page but it doesn’t show up. The default registration overrides the page.

Thanks!

I am testing the Buddypress Profile Integration Add-On and have a few questions:
1. In the demo I don’t have admin rights to put the registration form short code into the Registration page to test it. Can you either give me admin rights or put the short code there for me so I can test registration.
2.There is supposed to be a date picker for the Date of Birth field but in the preview all I see is a text field for the date of birth. Is there a date picker or do users have to enter date in a certain format?
3. The email field appears in the list of choices in the Buddypress tab of the Add-on but it cannot be associated with the field in the Form Editor tab. Again, if I could test this in registration it would be good.

I am interested in an answer to this also. I want to use the Buddypress Profile Integration add-on for a dating site that has a date range search, but the documentation says that the date has to be input in a specific format. Buddypress default uses dd-month-yyyy.
This is key to my site success so any direction on whether this works or not would be appreciated. If I figure it out I will post the answer here.

My theme is SweetDate and yes it has search functionality for City, State, and Age Range.
I am concerned that the Buddypress Profile Integration page says that the birthdate has to be in a specific format yy-mm-dd. Does this mean that the existing format in Buddypress which is dd-month-yyyy will not work? Are there examples of users getting the age range search to work using the Buddypress Profile Integration add on?
I requested a demo so hopefully I will be able to test it soon.
Thanks a lot!

I was able to answer my own question. I went into the Filters.php file in the Buddybar plugin and lowered the priority for the edit filter was added.
So now WPUF with priority of 10 loads last.

Hi Tareq,
The formatting of custom fields was solved with CSS:

.wpuf_customs label {
    display:inline;
}

Hello Tareq,
I had the same question regarding being able to exclude or include categories. On my Category form element I am not seeing the Selection Type drop down list. This option doesn’t appear for me. And the next field is called Exclude Terms. Am I on an older version of WP User Front End Pro or is there a setting I need to use that I don’t see?
Thanks
Hugh

Hello Tareq,
Just wanted to check back with you regarding integration of the registration forms with Buddypress. Any ETA?
I will also be moving my WP-User Frontend Pro from my local test install to my live site in the next week. Is there anything that I need to do to transfer my license/key to the new site?
Thanks
Hugh

I tested the WPUF Registration Form in a demo site with Buddypress. The Username, Name(Nickname), Email, and Password fields are all compatible in both WordPress and Buddypress. Unfortunatly Buddypress uses extended profiles so all the other fields from the WPUF Registration form (First Name, Last Name, Biography) show up on the WordPress user profile but not in the Buddypress profile. The avater in the WPUF form did not work so I was not able to test this.
The question is whether it is possible to have the WPUF Registration custom form fields populate the Buddypress extended profile fields that I create using the the metakey. Or is there another way to make this work.
Extended profile fields are needed in Buddypress to enable search by city, state, age etc. Otherwise it would be possible to just use the WordPress profile fields.

Hello Tareq,
I purchased the PRO version of WPUF and set up two registration forms. The first one containing Username, Email, and Password, and the second containing Name, Bio, Birthdate etc. I used the settings tab to name the submission button “Next” and direct it to the second registration page. The problem is that on the second page when I fill out all the registration fields and click the submit button, there is an error stating that there is no email address. So is it not possible to have separate registration forms in a sequence like this?
Thanks
Hugh
