select image not working at all with Internet Explorer

abub Hi i'm facing a problem with select image @ Internet Explorer browser i think it's a kind of Java script conflict, i've changed my theme to twenty elven but the same error finally i found the same problem within the demo version of the plugin http://demo.wedevs.com/wpuf/ if you try the select image button at IE there is no response, i think it's a bug if any body faced the same problem and found something please help

In the initial release it was working in IE8, not sure what went wrong.

I am testing with IE9, its working. Damn IE8!

Hi,
i’ve the same problem with IE8 and can’t make it work well.
What kill’s me is that it’s working with IE7.
Do you have any clue of what we could do ?

Aha… IE 7 & 9 = Works ! IE 8 = Not !

We are going to test it further. till then hold on please.

The image upload button at “Registration/update” form also not working even at Firefox or chrome

I’m having the same problem with image uploads in IE.

Some more details:

  • Running wp 3.4.1
  • If I switch from my custom theme to the twenty-eleven theme the upload works fine in both IE 7 and 8.
  • In my custom theme the attach image button doesn’t work. It simply goes to “#” (clearly a javascript problem). It does, however, work in chrome and safari.

So I suppose something wrong with your theme? Check the page instruction to find out if there is any JavaScript error.

Wanted to post a follow-up here about the problem I experienced in case it helps anyone else.

I actually had two problems in my theme – one was I was using a css class that was in conflict with one in wp user front end pro. The class in question is .button. Normally I don’t think it’d be a problem, but I had a z-index applied to my version and that was the problem.

In addition, I had a function to restrict subscribers from accessing the dashboard. Without access to the dashboard the upload image functionality doesn’t work.

It also happens on mobile browser. Such as dolphin or android native browser.
When I made change like on http://wedevs.com/support/topic/uploading-not-working-in-ie/
Android opens all images instead opens file explorer.
