Annual Retreat 2025 – A Celebration of Togetherness, Culture, and Shared Purpose

Every company has deadlines, targets, and responsibilities. But once a year, we pause all of that to celebrate the most valuable part of weDevs: our people.

From 25 to 27 October 2025, the entire weDevs family traveled to Cox’s Bazar for our Annual Retreat, and those three days became a collection of unforgettable memories. With 82 team members joining the journey, it quickly became more than a trip. It was a reminder of what drives us.

We build products and solve problems, but at the core of everything are the people who make it possible. Teamwork, empathy, and unity have always been our strength, and the retreat made that clearer than ever.

Why We Arrange This Retreat Every Year

At weDevs, our Annual Retreat is not just an event on the calendar. It is a reminder of who we are as a team and as a family.

When Tareq and I started this tradition, we had a simple vision. We wanted a culture where people felt connected, appreciated, and united beyond their daily work.

Companies do not grow only through products or revenue. They grow when their people trust each other, respect each other, and enjoy working together. All year, we stay busy solving problems, building products, and serving our users. But once a year, we pause everything to celebrate the people behind our success.

When we travel side by side, sit together without screens, and share meals under open skies, we see each other as humans, not just colleagues. We remember that we are always stronger together. This spirit is the reason we continue this tradition every year.

A First for Many – Flying Together to the World's Longest Sea Beach

This retreat carried a special kind of excitement. We did not just travel, we flew. For many members of our team, it was their first time boarding a plane. The smiles, nervous laughter, window-seat battles, and the thrill of takeoff made the journey unforgettable.

Some captured videos. Some stared in awe at the clouds. Some celebrated a childhood dream finally coming true. Watching our teammates experience their first flight reminded us that company milestones are not only about products or numbers. They are about people, growth, and moments we share.

Day One with Laughter, Sand, and Sunsets

As two batches landed at Cox’s Bazar, one thing was clear. The enthusiasm traveled with every flight. The day began with check-ins, warm greetings, and smiles that felt like a reunion after a long year of work.

Soon, the beaches welcomed us. Kolatoli, Laboni, and Sugandha became backdrops to laughter, team photos, and countless candid moments. The swimming pool at Hotel Sea Palace helped everyone relax and recharge.

The afternoon brought a friendly cricket match. Cheering voices filled the air, and everyone felt like part of the same team. There were no departments and no hierarchy. Just people having fun together.

When night arrived, we explored the beaches and enjoyed a peaceful evening under the open sky. The waves crashed nearby and ended the first day with calm and happiness.

Later that night, many teammates gathered for a friendly UNO game. The laughter and playful competition brought everyone even closer, and it quickly became one of the funniest memories from Day One.

Day Two as a Journey Through Nature

The next morning started with a buffet breakfast, more beach time, and another round of swimming. But the biggest highlight was our journey along the breathtaking Marine Drive.

From Himchari to Inani to Patuartek Sea Beach, the road was filled with jokes, stories, and good-hearted teasing. We also took our official team photo there.

Then came a magical moment. We watched the sun go down on one of the most beautiful beaches in Bangladesh. It felt like nature itself was welcoming us.

A Night to Remember with BBQ Dinner and Leadership Reflections

After returning to the hotel, everyone gathered for a grand BBQ dinner. The night was not only about food. It was about inspiration.

I, along with our CTO Tareq Hasan, CMO Atikur Rahaman Tonmoy, and other members of our leadership team, shared heartfelt words that night. We spoke about our journey, the challenges we faced, how far we have come, and the dreams we still hold for the future.

The messages were honest, personal, and deeply encouraging. Many of our teammates left the dinner with renewed energy and hope for an even brighter tomorrow.

Day Three and Until We Meet Again

The final morning was a quiet one. Breakfast turned into long conversations. People walked along the beach one last time. Cameras captured the last few memories.

Many teammates bought shutki (dry fish), pickles, and tang fruits for family and friends back home. It was heartwarming to see how much love they carried for the people waiting for them.

By noon, two batches left Cox’s Bazar and returned to Dhaka with tired faces, happy hearts, and a renewed sense of belonging.

Appreciating the People Behind the Scenes

Annual Retreat 2025

A retreat with 82 people is not simple. It takes careful planning, late-night coordination, and teamwork. Our travel coordinators managed every flight, room, and bus seat. The activity team arranged cricket matches, beach visits, and sightseeing. The BBQ dinner team made sure the night felt special. Our photography and media team captured every smile and sunset. Their hard work gave us a trip we will cherish for years.

Special thanks to the HR and Admin team, and to the lead of this tour, our Head of Design, Ashraf Hossain.

The Most Beautiful Photo Moments We Captured

Annual Retreat 2025

Photos will tell the story better than words. The team photo at Cox’s Bazar Airport. The drone shot at Inani Beach. The smiles during cricket. The BBQ night under soft yellow lights. The sunset at Patuartek, where the waves touched our feet. Each picture is a memory frozen in time. Each one shows why this trip mattered.

Lessons We Brought Back to Work

We returned with more than bags and souvenirs. We came back with new friendships, new respect for each other, and a deeper sense of unity. Teams that rarely work together shared hours of travel, food, and laughter. We listened more, understood each other better, and found joy in the simplest moments. These lessons will shape our work, communication, and culture.

More Than a Trip and – A Reminder of Who We Are

This retreat wasn’t just a holiday. It was a reminder that culture is not built through policies, documents, or meetings. Culture lives in people, in shared smiles, supporting each other, cheering for teammates, and listening with empathy.

At weDevs, we are proud of what we build, but we are even more proud of who we are. Until next year, these memories will stay with us in photos, conversations, and stories we’ll repeat for months to come.

Thank you to everyone who made this trip special. Because when we are together, we are stronger.
