|Tareq Hasan||Hi there. My site is btownapartments.com and I'm trying to get the plugin set up. This is what I type in under meta key http://imgur.com/Nkr5v BUT, when I click save, it reverts to this: http://imgur.com/17MbR Because of this I think it won't distinguish, can anyone help?|

I should also mention I’m using the Appthemes vantage theme. Does anyone know how to display “listings” instead of “posts” as a result of the search? Thanks!

I set the limit of the meta_key length to 20 character, so it’s striping out the extra characters. Didn’t realize it’ll be more than 20 char!
I haven’t seen the vantage theme, but as you are using a theme from AppThemes, if the search actually not working as it should, there might need some changes in the theme. Please check this and this link.

Thank you for responding so quickly!
Ok so I fixed the meta_key length.
I commented out this code: http://i.imgur.com/kagBj.png
This is what happens when I search now (no criteria entered): http://i.imgur.com/pkzqc.png
This is what happens when I put 7000 in monthly rent: http://i.imgur.com/ZayWO.png
Ultimately my goal is to have the search results displayed like this: http://i.imgur.com/ctOMS.png
It looks like its outputting blog posts, instead of listings, which I have checked here: http://i.imgur.com/ywEVg.png

The line you commented, I think thats not causing the problem. I think the vintage theme is modifying the search parameter on its own and the advanced search plugin can’t override them. Thats what happened with other two Appthemes theme I checked. So it’s in other place.
If the plugin works as it should, you should get the search result as you normally get in the vintage theme. It won’t modify the presentation. If you are not sure if the plugin is working or not, you can also check it by activating the default twentyelven theme.

If its happening with the other two appthemes themes, then it is probably happening with vantage. Do you know how to fix it so that it no longer overrides the plugin?

I don’t have the theme, so I can’t make you a suggestion.

Hello Tareq, I have the same question I asked to Oppenlander, and also, I would like to find a way to set in my advance search some kind of “Radius” as we can do with the refine search from ClassiPress.

I ended up using a different Plugin. This one won’t work, I wasted my money on it.

here is my email, firstname.lastname@example.org if you could tell me the one who works will be very nice. Thanks.

@oppenlander This plugin works as it says. If the theme already build custom functionality, plugins can’t override this. It’s not the fault of the plugin.

That is the problem of a plugin compatibility with a theme. You solved it with ClassPress, do you have any solution for Vantage which has more demand for a search plugin then ClassiPress. Will be perfect for all users of Vantage. Any suggestion? And also my second question about the Radius?

I never saw Vantage theme and I don’t have it, so can’t really suggest you anything. Advance search plugin only search and matches to custom field and taxonomy, so radius search isn’t possible out of the box. It needs to customize.
