No, that doesn’t work.

First style.css is loaded then bootstrap.css and then green.css. So I have to use the important keyword and then every a is overwritten.

I changed it myself by changing the colors used in green.css, but I will have to do this on every update so this is not desireable.

You should use child theme to customize. Child theme is a safe way and it will prevent your data to lost during update.
