Anthony I'm ready to buy Dokan when Stripe for Markeplaces support or add-on is available. Have you researched this recently? https://stripe.com/us/marketplaces

It’s also important the feature (or add-on) has the ability to verify receivers:

Awesome!

Please make sure you support the Marketplace features Stripe has recently built out.

Hello Joseph,

It’s a bad news. Stripe dose not support multiple seller payment in one order like paypal adaptive payment. So we have to leave the idea of stripe add-on for dokan. sorry… 🙁

Hello Sk Shaikat,

Please review the following link (as I posted above):
https://stripe.com/us/marketplaces

That clearly indicates they now support the “adaptive payment” model, better known as marketplace payments. Please please take some time to research this, it’s much much better than PayPal.

I’m in talks with a developer to get this built. Anyone else interested in using this integration?I would own the copyright, so it could be sold for a small fee.

The add-on won’t be developed part of the Doken theme, but rather we’ll wait for the planned plugin.

Last time I checked with Stripe support, they only provide this scenario:
One seller and the store owner. When you purchase any items from a seller, the seller gets the payment and store gets a commision. But it doesn’t work with multiple sellers in the same order. Cause they don’t support multiple payouts (like PayPal adaptive: parallel and chained). Only thing they support is 1 seller and 1 admin.

Not sure if it’s changed now.

@Tareq – recently Stipe introduced Marketplace . Check: https://stripe.com/us/marketplaces

@Others – we are going to analyze it and looks like stipe is getting better over paypal in terms of marketplace.

Mahi–please DO move forward with Stripe for markeplaces as soon as possible. The Stripe platform is growing/getting better over Paypal and this is an area where Dokan needs to pay attention. Important. For me, I’d love to see Stripe asap and I’m sure that other users feel the same way.

Thank you.

Hello Brenda,

We understand your needs and I have added this topic to our to do list. Hope we can release an add-on for Stripe payments by the end of this year.

Thank you 🙂

@Sekander Thanks for your reply. I think this is easier than dealing with the paypal issues. I’m testing Stripe on my site using a woocommerce plugin for stripe, it is very nice but woo doesn’t support multi vendor with the plugin and Dokan does not support the Stripe Connect feature.

I also was easily able to create my own Stripe application for the Stripe service called “Connect” which allows me to collect credit card payment from the customer and have the money go directly (in Stripe) to a connected seller.

The benefit of Stripe over any of Paypal products for a multivendor marketplace is HUGE. All disputes, chargebacks, everything causing headaches entirely bypasses the marketplace owner (me) and is dealt with on Stripe with the individual seller. What a great thing. Each seller deals with their own problems without the markeplace owner’s involvement. Huge!

The problem, at this point is Dokan and the shopping cart, of course. For us, as the owner of the marketplace, the choice is clear that we wish to go with Stripe Connect. It reduces our exposure to liability and it reduces our workload. To use the Stripe Connect with the Dokan plugin, either wedevs must create an application for it (and, yes, other developers are doing Stripe applications for other shopping carts and platforms) OR I really think wedevs is going to lose a big market share. And soon.

I suggest that this is really the most important add-on you could do at this time to keep Dokan viable as a multivendor marketplace.

If another marketplace owner who hasn’t given up on WP and Dokan is developing this add-in, I’d love to know of it or contribute to it. Such a user could contact me directly or reply to this message.

We had our developer looking at it but decided that he will spend time integrating stripe connect into a different multivendor markeplace platform that we have access to simply because he can test the webhooks on that platform easily whereas Dokan is confusing in terms of documentation and communication. We started work on the WP Dokan site at the same time as the non-WP site and the other site is now being tested but the Dokan site is limping along. I hate to give up on WP as my platform but it may end that way.

So, please, please, please do look into getting your Stripe Connect application together quickly. If you are so backed up, perhaps you can collaborate with Stripe on this.

Thank you,

Hello Brenda,

I will discuss about this with the developer team tomorrow. Hoping that we will be able to assign the team to start working on this within this week.

Fingers Crossed 😀
