towhid The option to add Post Formats does not show for me. My theme supports at least 5 of them. Why can't I include them as a dropdown in my forms?

Ok some confusing things going on here. The following photos were taken from your Demo page…

This is the option I would like to have for my forms but do not have.

In your Post Settings area there are many Post Format styles, which is good.

But then when you look at the actual form, it shows options for MP3s and CDs??

Even more confusing. When you go to Add New Post, the formats are listed…no mention of MP3s and such…

I just need to allow users to choose one of the post formats I have available, which will allow the theme to modify the appearance of the post appropriately.

Hello Jones,

I am really sorry to say that you can not allow post formats in post submit form. We do not have this kind of feature. But you can allow a post form under post format. When a user submit any post through this form it will go to user’s chosen format. To enable “Post Format” please navigate to Your chosen form->Post Settings->aside,image,video,audio etc.

Thank you 🙂

So this means I must have a different form for every post format?

And why do you have Post Formats enabled in your demo? This is the major reason I bought this plugin.

I have found a kind of workaround.

Ultimately I would like a sort of Tumblr experience, where the user will click an icon corresponding to the “kind” of post they will make (the post formats).

With User Frontend, I think I could make 5 different forms corresponding to each post format. When a user clicks an icon (like a camera icon) then the corresponding form will be displayed (gallery post format).

There is only ONE issue left I think.

I tried this example by making a form that will post video post formats. However, the theme does not seem to recognize the post as being a video post format, even though the video post format has been selected in the post.

Strangely, if I visit the backend of the post, the issue fixes itself, but ONLY if I visit the backend of every post.

Can you determine what is causing this? And how to rectify it?

Hello Sidian,

Sorry for my late reply. We were not available yesterday due to weekend.

I had tried your example by making a form and post with embedded a YouTube video by “Post Body” Field and successfully see the video in my post as a video post.

Please check below image about my post:

If your theme does not support video format you have to customize and add up video format.

To know more about the post format please check following links:

Thank you 🙂
