Hello jay
when you select variable product then you will get a new tab Variations instead of shipping. you could add shipping for individual variations of the product from here.

Thank you

I am confused as it says, “Same as parent shipping”. There is no way to change it or add in the shipping. Of course I can go back to SIMPLE PRODUCT if I want to change it but I am not sure that has any effect on the variable product listing. See pic

Flat rates use shipping classes. I am using your product shipping plugin. The only way for a user to change the “Same as parent shipping” is to add a shipping class. There is no way for them to add those classes as it is not an option in the dokan seller area.

Hello Jay,

Please go to your site back-end/admin panel navigate to Products > Shipping Classes and add new shipping class there. the drop-down will show your added shipping classes as option then.

thank you.

So I need to add a shipping class for every type of product and every country? How is this even possible with not knowing what people will want to sell, weight of item, place the item is being shipped from, etc. etc. I could literally be here for an entire year making shipping classes up unless I am misunderstanding how to use classes. I went to woocommerce and read about shipping classes which uses Flat Rate Shipping and Table Rate Shipping. These can make use of Shipping Classes for calculating class specific costs.

Doesn’t seem like the way this should work. Users should be able to set their own classes from their dashboard in my opinion.

That in my opinion makes the variation option an issue with your shipping plugin. I think the variation should be disabled or an option to disable it if we are using your plugin then. How would I work around this? I was under the impression the plugin would work with simple and variable products. I think you guys should somehow integrate that into the shipping plugin.

EDIT..

I noticed that the shipping from the SIMPLE PRODUCT is carried over so it would seem just adding the SHIPPING TAB to the variable product would solve the issue. I went back to simple added 2.99 for my shipping clicked save. Then went back to the variable product and and added my options and then saved it as a variable product. I went to the store and it added to my cart. It had the shipping cost that I entered in the “SIMPLE PRODUCT” field. It seems it still uses that price.

one more thing I noticed was that the cart button shifts down when the price is too long. How would I fix this? I am sure there will be longer prices.

Hello jay

please navigate to dokan/assets/css/style.css.

replace line 113 with
.home .product-sliders li .item-bar{background:#fff;display:block;width:100%;padding:5px 0;border-bottom:1px solid #eee;border-left:1px solid #eee;border-right:1px solid #eee}.home .product-sliders li .item-bar .price{padding:0 0 0 5px;display:inline-block;margin:0}

and
replace line 423 with
.woocommerce ul.products li.product .item-bar,.woocommerce-page ul.products li.product .item-bar{background:#fff;display:block;width:100%;padding:5px 0;border-bottom:1px solid #eee;border-left:1px solid #eee;border-right:1px solid #eee}.woocommerce ul.products li.product .item-bar .price,.woocommerce-page ul.products li.product .item-bar .price{padding:0 0 0 5px;display:inline-block;margin:0}

this will not work for mobile or tablet device.

thank you

Thx @Sk_Shaikat, as that fixed part of the issue. The big problem was what I posted up top.
