    Hello,

My developer who is working on my website wrote this:

hi sir to change this website to be able to show soundcloud widgets I am editing the below files

In Dokan theme i am editing new product.php and edit product.php etc including one more text field so user can enter sound cloud id.

and I'm editing woocommerce plugin files template/content-product.php to show soundcloud widget instead of product image….

and in theme I'm editing single product files structure as per the client requirement.

so how can i prevent these changes being lost during updates……….. please suggest ……

    Thanks

    Hello Nimal,

I think something wrong here. Main file customization is not good. Please when you need to customize your site, you have to make a child theme under the main theme. It is a best way to override.

You can transfer all the changes in a child theme to prevent those changes being lost during updates.

    Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Nayem,

Thanks for your attention. He is editing woocommerse plugin files as well. Can those changes also be done through child theme? He's editing those files to show a sound cloud widget instead of product images.

    Thanks,

    Nimal

    Hello Nimal,

Those changes can be done thorough child theme. You have to make a folder for WooCommerce plugin changes. The folder name should be “WooCommerce” and also for Dokan you have to make a folder “Dokan”.

    Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hello Nimal,

When the latest version will available you can test this and except this i have no idea to test this. Hope you will understand me. I told you the path to customize but in customization we do not provide support. Please read our support policy- http://wedevs.com/support-policy/.

    Thank you for understanding ๐Ÿ™‚
