Tareq Hasan I purchased the Pro version of WPUF and am hoping to use the registration forms for a WP site that has both the Buddypress plugin and the BP Profile Search plugin working. This site has social networking features and a member search that allows members to search by city, state, and birth date (age range). Is there a way to use the WPUF registration forms to sign up Buddypress members? The date field in the registration forms is not appropriate for birth dates because it is a calendar with no year navigation button vs separate drop down lists for month, day, year in buddypress. Also I believe the profile fields in Buddypress are not a one to one match with Wordpress. Thanks Hugh

Hi, sorry for replying late.

I haven’t tested the plugin with buddypress sadly. I will let you know after I test the plugin.

I tested the WPUF Registration Form in a demo site with Buddypress. The Username, Name(Nickname), Email, and Password fields are all compatible in both WordPress and Buddypress. Unfortunatly Buddypress uses extended profiles so all the other fields from the WPUF Registration form (First Name, Last Name, Biography) show up on the WordPress user profile but not in the Buddypress profile. The avater in the WPUF form did not work so I was not able to test this.
The question is whether it is possible to have the WPUF Registration custom form fields populate the Buddypress extended profile fields that I create using the the metakey. Or is there another way to make this work.
Extended profile fields are needed in Buddypress to enable search by city, state, age etc. Otherwise it would be possible to just use the WordPress profile fields.

You are right, extended profile fields doesn’t work. The problem is, WPUF stores every user data as user meta field, where buddypress stores their data in it’s own separate table. Seems like it’ll not work without a tight integration. I am adding this on the feature list, but can’t give you any ETA.

Hello Tareq,
Just wanted to check back with you regarding integration of the registration forms with Buddypress. Any ETA?
I will also be moving my WP-User Frontend Pro from my local test install to my live site in the next week. Is there anything that I need to do to transfer my license/key to the new site?
Thanks
Hugh

No update with Buddypress yet.

When moving the site, you don’t need to do anything.
